Cozy Swedish recipe - Potatismos & Korv

Cozy Swedish recipe - Potatismos or cream potatoes

One of the classic Swedish dishes is easy to cook the Swedish but totally Potatismos. The subtle but unmistakable difference from the usual mashed potatoes is noticeable and delicious.

It is the classic accompaniment "Korv" or sausage and mustard. I first tasted it served me while in Sweden, where it is widely available, much like fish and chips is in England. You can easily create this dish at home without the traditional Korv. Just take some bratwurst or hot dog sausage, slit halfway and fill with a layer of Swedish mustard (sweet and not too hot).

12 small and medium-sized potatoes

1 Decilitre milk

2 Tablespoons margarine or butter

Pinch of salt

Pinch white pepper

Peel and cut the potatoes into small pieces.

18-20 Minutes you cook the potatoes in salted water.

Drain & stand for a few minutes.

The potato with a potato masher mash. If you have a strong electric mixer, you could also use this.

Put you butter in milk and boil up milk simmers.

Pour the milk in the potato mash gradually until you want the consistency.

Go on, beat until the mash is creamy.

Add salt and pepper to taste

Serve piping hot with Korv or sausage and red cabbage.
